In this second book of C.J. Parker, we are reintroduced to Dr. Tabatha Gray (a Necromancer), Rhonda Meads (a firestarter), and Bobbie Luckman (a Native American and shape shifter.) Their friendship growths in this as they are thrust into the upheaval of Bobbie's world. Even worse, the Guardians Against Paranormal are after them again, and vow to destroy them all. With every turn of the page, Ms. Parker draws us in with new revelations that intertwine the characters with each other and with their situation. A stimulating read.The only downside was the fact that I read the Kindle version. I sincerely hope the terrible formatting is NOT in the paperback. I know the author is not to blame for that. But if I were her, I'd send Tabatha, Rhonda and Bobbie after whoever did that shameful formatting.

Excellent story. Vivid descriptions. There's a hurricane coming snd shape-shifters are warring in Lousiana. Where else would such a sciece fiction novel take place. Keeps the reader on his toes. Great read!
Fire Starters, Shape Shifters, and Necromancers! What more is there? I loved this story from beginning to end. C.J. Parker, is an amazing story-teller and knows how to keep you at the edge of your seat. Great read!

Silly, child-like. Seems to have been written for teenagers by teenagers.
What a fantastic read! I love the mix of Shape Shifters, Fire Starters, and Necromancers! A new twist on sci-fy and fantasy. And I'm not ashamed to say that I'm dying to read what happens in the next book!
